The Brooklyn-Long Island Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will host its 3rd annual College Bus Tour during the the NYC DOE spring break. The dates of the tour is Sunday, April 1, 2018 to Friday, April 6, 2018. The tour will consist of college/universities in the North Carolina (North Carolina A & T University, Winston Salem State University, Johnson C. Smith University, St. Augustine University, Fayetteville State University, Shaw University, Bennett College and Livingstone College).
The tour is open to all NY/NJ/CT students (male/female) from grades 9th - 12th. The cost of the trip is $375.00 (which includes travel/lodging/meals on selected campuses). The trip will also include visits to the African American Museum and the Martin Luther King, Jr. monument in Washington, DC, which will be on the last day of the tour. (tour schedule is subject to change based on availability). *8th graders graduating during the Spring of 2018 can attend, but will require a letter of recommendation from their guidance counselor & teacher to attach with the application*

Students must participate in the workshops which are designed to prepare them for the college experience. Topics include application assistance, campus life, scholarships and financial aid. They also serve as an opportunity for the students to get to know each other prior to the college tour. The workshops also allow students to get to know each other before going on the tour.
All workshops will be held at Public School 3 (50 Jefferson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11216) from 11:00am - 1:00pm
3/24/18 - The College Experience: An Interactive Panel Discussion. Panel discussion with current college This students and new graduates. Topics to be explored include the relevance of higher education, academic success, social factors, mentoring relationships, etc.) Final rules for the tour will also be discussed.
